Big things are happening...

I had a huge week... Graduation on Saturday. My 22nd birthday on Monday. A job offer on Thursday. And accepting the job on Friday.

Now it's Tuesday, and not only am I starting my job, but I'm preparing to leave for a month in the Netherlands in a week!!

It is safe to say that big things are happening for me right now...

My new job is with Iowa Resource for International Service, a small nonprofit in Ames, Iowa. IRIS has a great cause, and does some wonderful things for Iowa's communities. However, it is not very well known -- that will be my job as their PR specialist!

I know the organization very well, because they were the client for my capstone class at Drake. We researched the organization and did some preliminary research in the fall and in the spring, prepared full PR campaigns in groups of six. My job will be to implement the campaigns as prepared by my peers...

Today is my first day! (I'm blogging over my lunch break...)

I'm feeling like an adult... Nevermind the fact that I'm working 2-3 days this week and then leaving for a month in Europe!

Life after graduation...

There was a career fair at Drake yesterday. I don't know if it's just me, but I feel like I never do career fairs right. I walk around and don't know who to talk to.

It also makes it difficult because I'm *probably* going to the Netherlands for a month after graduation. I'm doing a photography and graphic design program, so I won't be back in the States until mid-July. Unless I can find a full-time job before I leave for Europe, my current game plan is to work somewhere for a month and then try to get a full-time internship/job for the fall.

My boyfriend, Chris, will be student teaching in the fall, so I'm probably going to stay in Des Moines. But after that... who knows! Maybe I'll just work on finding a BOMB job for wherever I might be in 2010. Wow. I've never said 2010 before... that feels futuristic!
